News of emergengy call in Pittsburgh fail

In the yahoo news story titled "Pa. man dies during storm when 911 calls unheeded", a man by the name of Curtis Mitchell waited for an ambulence for 30 hours before passing away. After calling 911 about a dozen times paramedics were never able to reach their house to help. The snow was so bad that it made it immpossible to drive to their house, but what they should have done is walk to their house and carry him back to ambulence. They instead wanted him to walk and he was already in severe pain because of his stomach. The story develops a baised towards the emergeny service and points out many of it's shortcomings. The information was a bit vague at times but the author explains that the wife of the man who died wasn't very descriptive of her husband's illnesses so they did they best that they could. It still made it's point known in showing the faults with the emergency service. And in a very powerful statement by the public safety director, saying "We failed a person", we are able to see how they are aware they made a mistake and know they must fix this so that something like this wouldn't happen again.

News On Chile Earthquake

In the yahoo news article titled "Man, daughter fall 13 floors in Chile quake" a perspective of one man's story of him and his daughter's survival of the earthquake in Conception, Chile is given. This is just one site of horrific damage done by the earthquake. The cite being the newly opened apartment building of concrete and glass, opened last June by the company Socovil. They had issued a statement saying that they had complied with all building codes but many residents had complained that the building was faulty. The article contains many small interviews with those who were able to survive the buildings collapse, all saying that the construction was poor. So a biased agianst the company who built the aparments was formed because of these peoples' opinions. The images given helped the story very much. It is a very strong and well written story that is written to give a good point of view since these are the people who are actually experiencing this tragedy.
